This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. had time to exhaustively browse the archives) of similarities between Sever=
ian
and Claudius, both the historical emperor and the charming narrator of the =

Robert Graves novels?

	I'd have to refer to the books to recall the whole correlation, but
major points include the unlikely lamed emperor, the prophetic implications=
 of
the first chapter, their wives' names (though Severian's Valeria is no Vale=
ria
Messalina), and perhaps even the apparently catastrophic "renewals" (Severi=
an's
flood, Claudius' prediction of the dire reign of Nero).
