An Old mystery ...

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

As to that, I'd guess that the Christ myth contains all those myths---it is constructed of them. That's not quite the same as saying there is no difference, but it's close. The biggest difference is obviously going to be the close association with a monotheistic entity vs a position on a pantheon, however prominent.

Well, I'd argue, again, that he brings about a sort of Apocatastasis.

I'd also argue that those myths your talking about are PROBABLY all talking about the same principle. Horus and Mithras and Marduk are very like Christ, if you look at the symbols and try to abstract what those symbols are trying to talk explain. They're generally Regenerative Solar Healers who right a wrong.

All of these myths are made by HUMAN minds trying to understand these cosmological principles. Some may be more or less Divinely Inspired, but they are all the product of HUMAN writers. I think they are generally trying to describe, from their vantage point, something that most every culture has felt. Wolfe has just done his own take.
