Peace of Mind

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I am rereading _Peace_ again and taking notes. (Man oh man, does that ever
slow me down and make what is normally a pleasure into a chore. I don't
know how any of you scholarly types out there can do it day in and day out.)

But the up side is that I can say very quickly that if you turn to page 53,
paragraphs 6 through 10, in the Orb edition of _Peace_, you will find
Olivia Weer explaining to Professor Peacock why humanity will no longer
exist in "thousands and thousands of years" (this is on the way to the
cave). Admittedly, this is too long to be the life of an elm, but still it
ties in with what Alex David Groce says above.
