This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Where do photos of the American Civil War come from then?

Indeed, Rudesind may not see any difference between stellar tech 
reproductions of a photograph and of a photo-realistic painting. 
Holbein's portrait of Thomas Moore is an example of what I'm thinking of.
