This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Thanks for your praise of our close reading, though I should warn you that our conclusions are by no means truth. <g> <and I recently completed my third reading of TBotNS> Was it truly different than the first two times? It wasn't until the third reading that I understood the events in the stone town with Apu-Punchau and Severian. <This seems odd, since these have been intelligent and literate people who generally enjoy the same sorts of books that I do.> I know what you mean, I've tried recommending the Book of the New Sun to a friend of mine really into fantasy, but it didn't catch. I guess that readi= ng any book by Wolfe is quite a heavy task, and it is only a fluke that a few = of us can muster the effort to tackle it. Because Wolfe doesn't write crap, th= is is true of all his books, and it is hard to find an accessible one. Christopher R.
