Urth Digest, Vol 57, Issue 13

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I have witnessed more than one self-identified socialist state that
their goal was the transfer of ownership of productive enterprises to
their employees by constitutional amendment. So if it's an effigy, it's
not one I built.

I'll readily admit there are more realistic forms of socialism. One of
particular interest to those here may be the brand espoused by Steve
Brust, author of the Vlad Taltos books. He's blogging a reading of
WEALTH OF NATIONS at

and no one's died horribly, yet.
