This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Cymbidium is certainly an interesting discovery, Tim.

But notice that Cim gets a capital C, like a proper noun - something
that has always bothered me. That, and the fact that it resembles 'a
soft star', rather than 'soft stars',  makes me think that 'the Cim'
must be a single thing rather than something multiple like snowflakes
or flowers. I used to think it was the aurora borealis, but 'soft
star' seems a bit of a stretch for that, too.

I wonder if the Cim is a moon or other planetary body, and 'blowing
from tree to tree' is meant poetically. After all, the sun doesn't
cha-cha, but we still talk about it 'dancing in the trees'.
