This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Gah! What kills me is that I know Gene probably only has a decade or
two more at most (if he was born in 1931 that puts him at ~79), which
means that time is short if I ever want to see him in the flesh or get
his signature on something like _Sorcerer's House_ - but at $150 I
couldn't justify that even to myself. Even $50 is pushing it (for $50
I could buy just about everything missing from my Wolfe collection).
