Why I Think Pan

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Mantis,

Well, I'd completely overlooked the fairy connection with changeling,
swapping babies, etc. Sounds exactly right to me. I'll have to read it yet
again. Soon I'll have it memorized!
The Peter Paul Mary Mama Papa stuff suggests a church connection, too, and
Wolfe likes to conflate stuff. I'll have to see if it will work out.
BTW: Wolfe says that the old man is dead. Whom do you think that means?
