Wolfe as Heretic

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

There are elements of early gnosticism in the BOTNS, where one can never
truly reach the level of the Increate, but one can move upward through the
various levels (i.e. spiritual beings) to better understand the Increate but
never quite reaching Him. Think of it as a spiritual version of Zeno's
paradox as personified through pseudo-deities.

As a pastor I find Wolfe's work fascinating as it always operates in a moral
universe, but there never seems to be a clearly communicated ethic from the
Increate.
