Wolfe as Heretic

Jeff Wilson · 21 May 2010, 03:40 · from 2010-May.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I happen to agree with this very strongly, in that the qualities of the
knowledge is often very heavily dependent on the qualities of the
experience. I have objective knowledge that springs from objective
experience as well as subjective knowledge that springs from very
personal, subjective experiences. But I am careful to distinguish
between them where they disagree. I am not the buddha, but I have
grasped this bit of the buddha-nature.

Do you have objective reasons to think they have, or is the belief based
on their consistent assertion that they have?
