This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.
From: severiansola at hotmail.com (Lee Berman) Date: Wed, 2 Jun 2010 12:19:51 -0400 Subject: (urth) On the allocation of blankets. Message-ID: <SNT123-W27BA205F246368E23B58F6CFD00 at phx.gbl> My vague interpretation of that scene is that it relates to the secret world of khaibits. My theory is that a khaibit's name is derived from the name of her clone mistress, but that it is quite impolite to discuss the relationship openly. Hence, Pega was cloned from mistress Pelagia and she debates with Odilo whether it is proper to call her role with her mistress as soubrette or ancilla, "khaibit" being too crass to mention. Perhaps this explains the mysterious "half-sister" relationship between Thecla and Thea? (though Thea is not shorter nor subordinate). But if there is a khaibit cloned from Thea, her name is too short to derive a new (saint) name. So perhaps Thea's khaibit was named just that- "Thea's" (Thais). _________________________________________________________________ The New Busy is not the old busy.
