Severian's relationship with Thecla

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

	No, seriously, unless Severian is lying, he did have sex with Thecla.
Best reference being (in my opinion) chapter XXXI ("The People of the Lake"=
) in
SWORD, where Severian says "Pia and I spend the night on one of the floating
islands, where I, who had entered Thecla so often when she was unchained bu=
t a
prisoner, now entered Pia when she was still chained but free."
	As far as I can recall, this is the first (and only) definitive
statement by Severian that he and Thecla were lovers, although it is certai=
nly
hinted at much earlier (as in the House Azure).
