Mormons inside a black hole

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Freedom of religion has had some strange expressions in America. The
problem, insofar as I'm interested, with the Mormons, is that their
claims are made contrary to what reliable objective records show to
be the case - the facts under contention occurred mere decades ago.
Smith had a long history of charlatanism reaching back into his early
adolescence. Is this the man who you'd trust with a story of golden
plates? In a word, no.

Steve--ya ya, unreliable narrators and all that.
