So who is the child in Baldander's bed? [was: Juturna, the Missing Sister]

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Doesn't Severian think Baldanders is simple for a while?

Also: does "fuel" count as "catamite"? My reading of the child is that
he's not there for Baldanders' *sexual* satisfaction, but because
Baldanders extends his youth by chowing down on his young self-clones'
(if that's
what they are) pineal glands, or slowly drinking their blood, or
something. Maybe "battery" or "spare parts" is more accurate than "fuel."
