Which character from BotNS do you identify with most?

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I think I always identify with the main character of a novel, especially if
the main character is also the narrator.   But identifying with Severian is
too obvious and boring.   So I'll answer a slightly different question:
 "Which character would you like to be, if you could choose to live on
Urth?"

I would want to be Dr. Talos.  He gets to exercise his creativity by writing
and staging his play.  He lives on his own terms and by his own wits.
 Baldanders may be his master, but Talos is a valuable expert, not a lackey.
  On the other hand, he's not really human...
