This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

	I would imagine that the lack of Lafferty discussion is due to the fact
that although Wolfe and Lafferty share similar worldviews and Wolfe is a gr=
eat
admirer of Lafferty's works, they don't have similar styles.  I would suspe=
ct
that there are other Lafferty fans on the list, though.  I certainly love
Lafferty's work.  Actually, another point would be that Lafferty's work is
generally less open to the kind of minute "hunt for clues" that Wolfe invit=
es.
 Lafferty seems to be a gestalt--you get it or you don't, and a search for
hidden symbolisms or recursive structures is unproductive.
