The face of Pas

Dave Tallman · 15 Sep 2010, 01:49 · from 2010-September.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

About the apparition of "Patera Pike" --
1) Pike was old when he died. RttW p. 40 says he was about eighty.
2) The apparition is called "the old auger," which happens to fit the future
Silk perfectly.
3) Wolfe in the Q+A session didn't ever say it was a real ghost. He said it
wasn't machine generated and it wasn't Quetzal in disguise. That's all. If
he was ever more definite in another interview I'd like to see the citation.
Even if he was it could still fir Silk/Rajan.
