This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

What I said was: >if I've pissed you off, I apologize, though I'm not sure why what I wrote upsets >you. Or did you mean you were pissed off at Andrew, whose idea I was going along with? My apology was for causing emotional distress, not for "bending/falsifying the evidence" I think I provide exact quotes from the text to support my ideas at as often as most others. If somebody thinks I need more textual support for one of my ideas I think the polite method would be to request it. I would be happy to oblige on this. To be attacked for for an adjunct reply to what are actually Andrew's ideas demonstrates the underlying purpose which seems to be personal not scholarly. I can undersand why those whom I've caused emotional distress be inclined to be impolite and prefer to make general personal attacks as a means of expressing that distress. But again, I am making a sincere attempt here to improve my understanding of Gene WOlfe's work. I appreciate both positive and negative feedback on my ideas. I prefer a spirit of pleasantness and cooperation but if some feel the need to express negative feedback in a combative, insulting manner I understand and accept this also. I apologize if "poo" is an offensive term for impolite attacks, due to its fecal reference. Among our primate relatives, throwing it is a common method of showing contempt. Perhaps we can call it an acronym for P(ersonalattacks) O(n) O(nesself)?
