This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Sev says he's much lighter than a human of his size, and the only other 
full-speed robots we see (Sidero, Ossipago) are hollow as well, so 
presumably it's a popular design. In his encountered state, he has a 
mostly-flesh head, arm, and presumably enough of a torso to support 
conversion of food, water, and air. If he lacks fleshy legs, he could 
have some ballast in the room for them to allow him something like 
normal balance.

What is interesting is that the crew had enough medical supplies and a 
lack of mechanical supplies such that they used medical intervention to 
save (and possibly prune three limbs of) a braindead man in order to 
replace the vision and one arm of an android. Presumably they needed an 
able body with a trained mind very badly for some kind of Hail Mary plan.

Then there is the question of Jonas' fleshy vs mechanical age. Why 
doesn't he look older than dirt, if he has been walking around for 
six-seven generations?
