This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I admit I can't make up my mind about "which" universe Severian lives in. Sometimes I think it's ours, but often I think it's the future of a very close parallel---so close that the term "parallel universe" doesn't quite cover it.
But we've been through all this before.

I don't think there's any special reason to think Severian's universe is without a Christ.? There is substantial evidence that it's history is similar to ours.? In BotLS there are notable religious references, including some to Christ.

One *can* argue that these references somehow come from another universe, but it seems a bit of a stretch.
