This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Heh, funny. Same here. If we envision the sequential universes as an ascending spiral, or maybe stacked toroids, as Son ofa Witz suggested, it would be easy to envision a portal linking the adjacent coils or donut rings. Maybe like an Inire/Hethor mirror? I don't think we're given enough information to know how, but it seems clear there is some way for stuff from Earth to have made it to Urth (I suppose some would argue it is simply longevity). Some of the stuff could be just Urthly versions of Earth stuff, like the moon astronaut. But some seem too perfectly Earthian to be seen that way. I think Jonas' literary allusions are the best example. His Alice/Looking Glass quote and him supplying the Earth/Theseus ending to Severian's story "proves" to me that he (robot form) has either been to Earth or, more likely, spent significant time with true Earth books.
