This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

If only! I work at a software company and you'd be appalled at the amount of 
people for whom interleaved replying is utterly alien.

It would also be nice if people started new threads when they wish to 
discuss new subjects. I don't mean keep changing the subject line to reflect 
content; I mean that, even if reading something about snails made you think 
of lettuce and you wish to start a thorough discussion on lettuce that has 
nothing to do with snails, please don't do it on the snail thread. The 
snails like lettuce but only if there's snails around.
