This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

>Jeff Wilson: especially if the image was supplied by a known artist like
>Fechin. (Though I think Casdoe's dad is misrembering Rudesinde as
>"Fechin" when he talks about the scampy, long-limbed boy artist.)

Careful Jeff. YOu are going too far down my path. ;- ). Rudesind was a boy
artist who meets an artist ("Fechin, Fechin, himself"). Rudesind's boy portrait
includes paint brushes which is an old "mystery" prop which allows the solver to
figure out the painting was a self-portrait. I.e. Rudesind is Fechin. If Fechin
had painted the picture of Dorcas then yes, it would be worth a lot of money, as
Ouen's words suggest. So Fechin/Rudesind is Dorcas' husband. Both Rudesind and Dorcas'
husband speak in the same folksy dialect. Bent, twisted monkey stuff all around.

I'll stop there but you can probably guess where it is headed.
