This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

On the other hand, anyone who stayed in the CPU after the Molotov--Ribbentrop Pact could not be labeled a "premature anti-communist". Pete Seeger, Dalton Trumbo, and Dashiell Hammet opposed American support of the Allies BECAUSE Hitler had cut a deal with Stalin. Then they turned on a dime after Hitler's sneak-attack. In the late 30s Trumbo bragged about squelching screenplays that painted the USSR in a bad light. It's hard to find heroes among humanity. u16b9 -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
