This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

If so, saying anything at all is a value judgement, because any statement is 
a negation of all statements that are logically incompatible with it.

Wait a second.  Surely we are *all* agreed that it is Kypris getting jiggy 
with photoshop?  What we disagree on is what she means to convey by this 
image she has created.  Is that not so?

Hmm... maybe it is not so!  You are saying that Silk at this moment has a 
mystical vision in the Sacred Window, not originating from the goddess who 
is using it to communicate with him, and this vision tells him that he is a 
clone of Pas?

I don't buy it, for two reasons.  First, just before the image is displayed, 
Kypris says "Look...".  Kypris is showing Silk this image.  Second, as I 
asked James - what would this image be expected to convey to Silk?  Its 
purpose is to convey something to him.

It's not a *fake*.  It's a representation, a diagram.

Fair enough.  I'm not picking on you either.  The way I look at it, in a 
book of 1200 pages there will be a lot of things that can be taken to 
suggest one possibility or another, and all these possibilities must be 
assessed in the light of ALL the information in the book.  We need to find 
the ideas that do the least violence overall to the various clues and 
indications.  You say I am making just as many assumptions, but where is 
this quantified?

You're talking now about the idea that Kypris is Silk's biological mother - 
I personally don't believe it, but I think the notion that Silk is Typhon's 
biological son by Kypris is considerably more plausible than the notion that 
he is a clone of Typhon himself, which is what we were talking about in this 
subthread.

But why do you think Kypris is showing this as a symbol of succession from 
father to son?  And why doesn't she say anything of the kind?
