This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

The undine says she only wants Severian's love. But they have to sneak off underwater somewhere to do it and Severian is ambivalent about the whole thing. Eckhart says: >"Tests for the devil and angel are as follows. Anything an angel does is done in the >light, orderly and clearly and the soul rejoices in the amiable presence of an angel; >also it is a sign to know him by that she is left with a sense of pleasure. In >counterfeiting this, the devil makes it vague, confused, ambiguous, and the soul, >affrighted at the haunting of the fiend, is restless and depressed and by this she may >know it is the devil." So I don't know what to think. What do you think?
