OT: R.A. Lafferty estate sale

Marc Aramini · 07 Mar 2011, 20:38 · from 2011-March.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

wow, so you can just buy the rights to everything he wrote? Insane. It would peeve me no end if I had a wealthy acquaintance that I despised in life buying up my life's work, just a scenario I see as a possibility in cases like this. Crazy. Wonder how much it will go for? Be cool to say, I own all Lafferty's work, but it just doesn't seem just that a man's intellectual legacy is for sale ...
