This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

This is am excellent summary of Wolfe's attitude toward myth. Literally, to Wolfe, the story of Jesus/Christ is The Greatest Story Ever Told. You mention green and blue and I'd be interested in your ideas there too. I just read mantis's great essay on why bears and wolves and cats keep appearing too, and maybe they are related. Although his ideas sometimes seem about to run off into areas that your theory above does not predict; that is, I think Wolfe is more purposeful than mantis suggests. --- avast!
