Semi-OT: SF Gateway

Matthew Keeley · 19 Oct 2011, 20:24 · from 2011-October.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I remember a few months ago there was some discussion here of Orion's SF
Gateway ebook site. News of its launch passed me by until just this week; it
seems to have an extremely good selection of out-of-print, but unfortunately
there aren't any Wolfe rarities available yet. The first three volumes of
New Sun are available, it's true, but copyright issues mean they're only for
sale to non-US readers. Other books by other authors don't have this
restriction, but Wolfe's in print from different publishers in different
countries.
