This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Let me repeat it: the visible stories > >have real depth. That?s kind of where I?m coming from too, in fact it crystallises what I feel is so wrong about ?boatman as Inire? theories: what do they do to Dorcas? Ryan makes the valid point that ?Severian is a puppet? is a possible reading. But is it an interesting reading, especially if it makes everybody a puppet, not just Severian? Would Wolfe want to write about a load of puppets? Maybe (he wrote War Beneath The Tree), but I have a feeling that even if he did, he?d have written at shorter length. And in that story Bear fought his fate even though he could not prevail. - Gerry Quinn -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
