This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Well, I don't think they did well to answer you, because their answer, 
regardless of being correct or not (and they have by no means convinced 
everyone, though they have their arguments), betrays/requires/gives away 
plot elements from the Book of the Short Sun which you shouldn't really be 
aware of while reading the Book of the Long Sun (unless you'd read them 
yourself, of course).

In short, no one has any idea what to make of that sequence [using only the 
material that precedes it]. So don't worry.
