This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Oooo! A tricky question. How much do details from the Long Sun "count"
in interpreting the New Sun books? Somehow I feel that's cheating.

On the other hand, I don't feel that way at all about the Short Sun & Long
Sun books, I guess because it feels like it's going to really be all one
story.

As for rumors that Severian may be involved somehow in the Short Sun
books, I am prejudiced against the idea. The Typhon bit works because
it's such a minor connection. But the feel of these two series is so
different, I have trouble imagining them being brought together without
one seeming out of place. (I haven't read _Blue_ yet, so I can't say
anything about the 'feel' of that book.)
