This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Ironically, the "not the son of my body, my son" explanation was totally 
generated from textual clues and a hint from Wolfe and it has turned out 
to be the one I find the most unrealiable in the long run. I agree that 
the number of references to Chenille looking so different from Silk are 
problematic. Of course, the mere fact that Wolfe is soooo emphatic about 
how they look different makes me suspicious as well.  As I said, I have 
to accept that Silk is a clone of Typhon. This seriously savages my 
"son" theory unless Tussah is a clone of Typhon's father (a man we have 
reason to doubt even existed). And, anyway, that would devastate so many 
of the reasons I found the explanation appealing.

I'm still not happy with the "bought son" idea. I find it very unWolfean.
