Like a good Neighbor

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Antonio, Marc has devoted years of thought, research and writing to his theory. Is
he really not supposed to be offended when someone acknowledges his years of thought
and method but tells him his efforts have not only been a complete waste of time but
also have produced ridiculous, mentally deranged solutions. Here is Gerry's statement:

>"If Wolfe gave you a shopping list that said bacon and potatoes and cabbage, you?d ponder
>it for half a day and return from the shops with a bar of soap, a cat, and a left-handed
>can-opener!"

Have you never spent years working on a project? Are you saying you would not take any
offense if someone evaluated your years of work in such a fashion? Marc is not manufacturing
"contrariness". It is right there, on clear display. Marc is being told his years of effort
to understand Wolfe were a waste of his time and a waste of space on this board.

FWIW, I have the opposite view from Gerry's, in every way. (except that we are both atheists ;- ))
