To William Ansley (I'm sure I have the right person this time)

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Hello, William.

I'm glad you're not offended.

(snip)
"I haven't dared reply to you myself. You have overwhelmed me with your=20
knowledge of literature <g>."

That's all right. You're welcome to debate the point.

I hope it doesn't look like I've been "showing off." I'm a graduate student=20
in English literature, so I slip easily into lecture/debate mode on this=20
sort of topic. Remember Sir Francis Bacon's famous saying: "Knowledge itsel=
f=20
is power?" I seem to have an arsenal of knowledge at hand.

(mischievious grin)

To drop another axiom, forewarned is forearmed....

Daniel
