This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

When he was questioning Oreb about her, he described her as a "girl" or "thin young woman". She was about fifteen; Silk was twenty-three. At Mucor's Rock, when Horn asked her to find Silk for him, she was not naked. She had been on Blue for twenty years, more than half her life. She was the same age as Horn, and he had not recognized her until he looked into her eyes. Taken together, these elements strongly suggest that the Mucor Silk saw in his manse on the night of Pike's ghost looked little like the 35-year-old Mucor Horn saw on Mucor's Rock. It's doubtful that young Silk would even have recognized the older woman. -Roy
