S&S vs. SF in BotNS

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Psi is SF terminology to indicate that certain powers arise from physical causes rather than magic.  It is on occasion used to put a thin veneer of SF on a story that might as well be about magic, but in itself it is not a word for magic.
Mucor has powers of this kind (though I don?t think Wolfe ever uses the word psi), but her brain is physically abnormal.
