This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. It all depends on degree. Like interpretation of Scripture, beyond a point, 
enhancement is just superimposing your paradigm on the data.

Lee's 'photo' idiom is quite clear - something which is as close to 
immediately understandable raw data as possible. In the case of subatomic 
particules, nothing close to raw data is immediately understandable, since 
they are more than order of magnitude away from us.
