This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Time travel is described in the story, and it doesn?t involve conversion to tachyons. It is suggested that characters capable of time travel can perceive more than three dimensions of space and run down certain corridors in space time that are invisible and inaccessible to most of us. (These corridors appear to be a good deal more accommodating and persistent than current physics would suggest.) No particularly great expenditure of energy is implied. The Ship does travel faster than light, but no particle conversion is indicated. Tachyons, if they existed, could not support chemistry compatible with a biology even of tachyon-creatures.
