This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I don't agree with Maroney's comment on classification here, because you=20
could say the same of fable and myth, which are both distinct from fantasy,=20
and both of which Wolfe makes use of.

But I did want to say that that's quite a witty quote! I hadn't thought of=20
it that way, but come to think of it, if Wolfe had Severian reach into a=20
rainbow and pull our a butterfly, I wouldn't be surprised.

With Wolfe at the helm, you have to expect the unexpected. Quite literally!

Anyway, that quote brought a chuckle.
