Urth Digest, Vol 92, Issue 48

Lee Berman · 17 Apr 2012, 12:30 · from 2012-April.txt.gz

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

Agreed. The lord of Moria (e.g. Durin) also. We get a somewhat positive
spin on dwarves from the troop in The Hobbit and from our exposure to Gimli
in the trilogy but there are plenty of hints regarding the dark side of
dwarves to be found in Tolkein's work. (FWIW, the Nome King of Oz is a
good representation of a malevolent King Under the MOuntain)
