This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. The Neuri are certainly in my Herodotus, the juiciest bit in book
four, just before the Amazons: "there is a story current amongst the
Scythians and the Greeks in Scythia that once a year every Neuria
turns into a wolf for a few days, then turns back into a man again"
(around section 105 I guess).  And just before that is a neat bit about
the Neurians being run out of their own country by an invasion of snakes.
