This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I have often thought about this myself. If our universe or multiverse were
ruled by a personal Creator God, I think I would agree with you. (Hitler
created the death camps, but God, let's say, created Hitler, and invented
pain and suffering to boot.)

Fortunately (IMHO) this is not the case in the "real" world. But in Wolfe's
pocket universes (Briah, Yesod, etc.) it is the case. Wolfe has explicitly
told us that TBOTNS is an extended meditation on the ways in which his God
shapes Creation through pain and suffering.

If you believe us to live in that sort of universe, then your quarrel is
with God, among others. But if you do not, then your quarrel is with Wolfe
himself.
