This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. A quick addendum to the last post:

It may be that Wolfe's philosophy that attachment to the person of the Monarch is 
simultaneously the highest and lowest basis for governance is related to the 
science vs. magic understanding of the world.

Perhaps Wolfe is saying the primitive who believes in magic sky gods who express their will
through storms and earthquakes and other global effect are actually tapping into something 
true- a divine will that science is not privy to understanding.
