Which reminds me of two other infamous textual variations in wolfe.  The omnibus of long sun changes Horn's first person declaration from and I came in the room to and then Horn came in the room in Exodus.  Also  in Different versions of Peace the narrator is either twenty or more pounds underweight or overweight.  Underweight works thematically but overweight could be misleading.  Unfortunate.
