Memories stored in the brain

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site, so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

>Entonio: Severian discusses this with Ultan.

I think Entonio is correct. It doesn't have to be the brain.
In his conversation about eating the dead, Ultan likens it
to a (70'style) hologram plate in which the entire picture
is stored in each and every piece, no matter how small. So
you would think any body portion would do.

At Voladulus' feast, isn't Thecla's whole body roasted
and served? Her head remains intact enough for Severian
to recognize her. Plus, it seems like a pretty big party
and I get the impression they each got more to eat than a
1/50 portion of her brain. Didn't they get legs, thighs,
breasts, etc.?
