Seeley; FAQ

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything
here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer
encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the
archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those
repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is
for. Email addresses are obscured here as they are everywhere else on the site,
so it is before our repairs rather than byte for byte.

I'll be glad to post the Seeley list later this afternoon or evening. (I'm on Pacific time.) As for belling the cat, I'll do it if no one else will. But who will watch the Watchmen? (Who's to decide finally what the "real" answers are to the hard mysteries, when Wolfe says he's not sure about some of them himself any longer?) Perhaps we can list alternate solutions together, with the most plausible ones first. BTW, are you the Dave Lebling who co-authored the Zork series? If so: Was _The Lives of the Twelve Flatheads_ in Zork a play on _The Lives of the Seventeen Megatherians_ in Wolfe?
