Any Pynchon Fans?

This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. I think Pynchon is decidedly more postmodern - when things fall apart they tend not to come together again.  Scatophages(i?), giant octopi, erections summoning death from above ... I like Gravity's Rainbow but am currently perennially half way through Against The Day - his hippie economic sensibilities in that one seem a bit off putting.  

I think in the final analysis the kind of interpretations I try on Wolfe would not by and large work on the more chaotic and decentralized Pynchon.
