This is the message as the crawl holds it, before anything here touched it. What the conversation shows has been through ingest: transfer encodings decoded, attachments dropped, quote markers repaired, and the archiver’s ? resolved into quotation marks and dashes. Those repairs are judgements and some of them are wrong, which is what this page is for. I enjoyed it too.  But all I meant was that like _The City And The City_ it 
is an earlier example of a fictional, seemingly Balkan country, albeit from 
a modern literary era.

Of course, thinking back further there were the Ruritania stories (Prisoner 
of Zenda etc.).  Though that had a more Austro-Hungarian feel, I think.
